Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering authentic biryani on BiryaniHub.
What is BiryaniHub?
+
BiryaniHub is the first dedicated biryani marketplace in the United States. We connect customers with verified Indian and Pakistani restaurants that specialize in authentic regional biryani styles — Hyderabadi, Lucknowi, Kolkata, Sindhi, vegetarian, and more.
How is BiryaniHub different from DoorDash, Uber Eats, or Grubhub?
+
Generic delivery apps list every kind of restaurant. BiryaniHub is biryani-only: every restaurant is hand-verified to actually serve authentic biryani. Each menu item is tagged by regional style, meat type, spice level, and halal certification, so you can find exactly the biryani you want.
Is the biryani halal?
+
Each restaurant declares whether it is halal-certified, and individual menu items can be tagged halal independently. Look for the green "Halal" badge on a vendor card or menu item. We rely on the restaurant's self-declaration — when in doubt, contact the restaurant directly via the phone number on its detail page.
Do you offer delivery, pickup, or both?
+
Both. At checkout, choose Delivery or Pickup. Delivery uses ZIP-code geofencing per restaurant — if the address is too far, you'll be prompted to either use pickup or pick a closer restaurant. Pickup orders skip the delivery fee.
How long does delivery take?
+
Most restaurants complete prep in 25–45 minutes, with delivery adding another 15–30 minutes depending on distance. The order detail page shows a live 6-step progress timeline (Placed → Confirmed → Preparing → Ready → On the way → Delivered) that updates in real time.
What payment methods are accepted?
+
Cash on delivery is supported at all restaurants. Card and UPI payment integration is coming soon — these options will appear at checkout when enabled per vendor.
Can I schedule an order in advance?
+
Yes. At checkout, switch from "ASAP" to "Schedule" and pick a date and time. The restaurant receives the order at the scheduled time minus their prep window.
How do I cancel or modify an order?
+
You can cancel a pending order from the order detail page before the restaurant confirms it. Once confirmed, contact the restaurant directly via the phone number on the order. We do not currently support self-service modification of confirmed orders.
Do you support catering and bulk orders?
+
Yes. Many restaurants offer bulk packages for parties, weddings, and corporate events — typically priced per tray or per person, with options for 10, 20, 50, or 100+ people. Look for the "Bulk / Catering" section on a vendor's detail page or contact the restaurant directly.
How does BiryaniHub verify restaurants?
+
Every restaurant is cross-checked against Google Places to confirm it's a real, currently operating business. Admins re-verify periodically to catch closures, address changes, or business name changes. Vendors with unresolved discrepancies are flagged or suspended.
What biryani styles are available on the platform?
+
Hyderabadi dum, Lucknowi (Awadhi), Kolkata (with potato + egg), Sindhi, Memoni, Kacchi, Tahari (vegetarian), Veg dum, Bombay, Ambur, Dindigul. Not every restaurant offers every style — use the filter on the browse page to narrow down.
I'm a restaurant owner. How do I list my biryani on BiryaniHub?
+
Visit /register to create a vendor account. Provide your restaurant's Google Maps link and we'll auto-fill most details (name, address, hours, photos). Upload required documents (food service license, EIN, owner ID, bank verification). Approval typically takes 1–3 business days.
How much does BiryaniHub charge restaurants?
+
Free signup with no upfront cost. Commission is a percentage of each completed order — significantly lower than generic delivery apps because we focus on a single cuisine. Use our contact form (Vendor signup / payouts) for current rates and tier pricing.
What if my order has a problem (missing item, cold food, wrong order)?
+
Open the order detail page within 24 hours of delivery and use the "Report a Problem" link. Refunds and credits are issued case-by-case after the restaurant confirms the issue. For urgent issues, use our contact form (General support).
Where does BiryaniHub operate?
+
Across the United States, with strongest concentration in metros with large South Asian populations: New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle. New cities are added as restaurants sign up — the browse page only shows restaurants currently servicing your ZIP code.
