What we commit to

Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable and operable via keyboard alone
Screen reader support — semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions for dynamic content (order status updates, notifications)
Color contrast — text meets a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against its background
Resizable text — content remains readable and functional when zoomed up to 200%
Reduced motion — animations respect prefers-reduced-motion; nothing is purely decorative if it depends on motion to convey meaning
Form labels — every input has a programmatically associated label and error guidance
Alt text on images — meaningful alternative text on all menu photos, vendor logos, and decorative graphics

Where we know we have work to do

We're honest about gaps. Areas we're actively improving:

Real-time order tracking timeline — currently relies on visual-only animation; adding screen-reader live region updates
Filter controls on the customer browse page — improving keyboard discoverability of the multi-select filters
Image alt text quality — vendor-uploaded menu photos sometimes ship without descriptive alt; we're adding admin-side review
Catering package builder — under development, will be designed accessibility-first from day one
